Prosperous Dragon Red Envelope Gift Set

Design Concept

Inspired by an auspicious dragon emerging from drifting clouds, the design transforms the dragon’s form into a horizontally extended red envelope structure. Clean, precise die-cut contours outline the dragon’s head, claws, and flowing body, creating a sense of motion and dimensional tension within a flat format.

The envelope itself forms a complete dragon silhouette, while a semi-transparent outer sleeve printed with dragon-scale patterns gently wraps around it. Through this layered construction, the dragon appears and disappears in subtle shifts, creating visual depth and a sense of anticipation.

This restrained yet expressive presentation symbolizes the gathering of fortune and the arrival of prosperity—echoing the auspicious New Year blessings embodied in the name “Prosperous Dragon.”

Craft & Materials

The outer sleeve is crafted from tracing paper with single-color black printing to render delicate dragon-scale textures. The translucent material allows the dragon form within the inner envelope to softly show through, creating layered visual depth and a refined interplay of opacity and color.

The main envelope is produced using 240g Lainie paper, whose fine texture enhances overall tactility and quality. Combined with single-color black printing and gold foil stamping, the design introduces subtle metallic highlights against the rich red base. The restrained use of gold accentuates the dragon’s form without overpowering it, reinforcing both festive elegance and collectible value.
