Design Concept

Centered on the Year of the Rabbit, this design transforms the conventional red envelope through an origami-inspired folding structure. When folded into its envelope form, the rabbit’s ears naturally emerge, creating a playful and recognizable silhouette. Once unfolded, the envelope expands into a complete rabbit figure—serving both as gift packaging and a decorative collectible.
Minimalist linework outlines the gentle form of the rabbit, accompanied by the auspicious calligraphic character “兔” (rabbit) and delicate patterns symbolizing good fortune. New Year blessings are thus translated into a form that can be unfolded, preserved, and displayed. More than a disposable envelope, it becomes a festive object meant to be kept and appreciated, allowing the spirit of celebration to extend beyond the holiday season into everyday living spaces.

Craft & Materials

The envelope incorporates dual-color foil stamping and embossing to create refined visual layers. Warm orange-gold foil delivers a soft metallic sheen that symbolizes prosperity and festive blessings, while transparent foil subtly highlights intricate patterns, appearing and disappearing with changes in light to enhance visual depth.

Selective embossing gently lifts the graphics and typography from the paper surface, enriching both tactile and visual dimensionality. Together, these techniques bring a sense of delicacy and festive warmth to the piece, allowing craftsmanship and celebration to be felt through every detail.
